At Interzoo 2024, we will be presenting a major innovation regarding our recycled poop bags in small roll format (box with 8 small rolls, 120 bags). The new version is made from at least 80 % post-consumer recycled plastic waste (PE) in the EU and is certified with the Blue Angel.

This is a huge step forward, as we have been working for years to be able to manufacture this product in Europe. The challenge for a long time was that there were no suitable machines in Europe that would have enabled economical and high-quality production. We are all the more pleased that after hundreds of hours of work, coordination with various partners and suppliers, countless optimisations and no fewer than 45 tested material mixtures, we have now found a solution with which we are highly satisfied.

But that's not all: the new version is Blue Angel certified. Our recycled poop bags in small roll format meet the requirements according to the award criteria "DE-UZ 30a". So this product from our range can now also bear the internationally recognized and at the same time one of the most demanding ecolabels in the world.

The EU version of our recycled poop bags in small roll format is made from at least 80 % post-consumer recycled plastic waste (PE), just like the previous version. This conserves resources because no new crude oil has to be extracted for the starting material and because significantly less CO₂ is produced when recycling PE compared to the production of new granulate.

Since post-consumer recyclate (PE) is relatively difficult to process, the corresponding films are usually thicker. However, we have managed to produce bags made of post-consumer recyclate in the same film thickness as the inexpensive bags made of conventional plastic (PE virgin granules). The new version of our recycled poop bags - just like the old version - still has a film thickness of 15 microns. In this way, no unnecessary material is wasted and valuable resources are conserved.

Our recycled poop bags in block format (envelope with 2 blocks, 100 bags) are produced with 100 % green electricity in a Czech plant with a high level of social commitment - more than half of the workforce has a disability.

As long as it is ensured that the bags are always disposed of correctly (residual waste), it can be clearly stated that recycled PE is a sensible material from an ecological point of view - at least as long as fossil raw materials (e.g. crude oil) are used to generate energy. This is due to the fact that PE burns residue-free in waste incineration to form carbon dioxide and water, and the high calorific value of PE means that a lot of energy can be recovered.
