Interzoo: The most international trade fair in the pet industry

A 32 percent increase in visitors compared to the previous event combined with a new record number of visitor countries (140) further proves that Interzoo 2024 was a great international success. Trade visitors from more than a dozen countries travelled to Interzoo in Nuremberg for the first time, including countries and overseas territories that make you dream of sun, beaches and palm trees. Just in time for the summer holiday season, we take a look at some beautiful countries of origin of Interzoo visitors.

Country flags of the 140 visitor countries at Interzoo, arranged in a circle around the Interzoo logo and ‘Interzoo 2024’ lettering With 140 visitor countries, Interzoo 2024 was more international than ever before. We take you on a short trip around the world to the most exotic and most distant countries that attended Interzoo

Option 1: Tropical beaches

A summer holiday on the beach is the perfect way to get away from daily struggles and give both body and mind some time to properly recuperate. Immerse yourself in crystal-clear water and spend refreshing hours swimming or surfing, with the warm sun on your skin and the gentle swoosh of palm trees in the wind - there's no better way to relax.

Given the large number of tropical paradises among the Interzoo visitor countries, including holiday classics such as the Seychelles (6 visitors) and the Maldives (2 visitors) in the Indian Ocean and well-known Caribbean destinations such as Trinidad and Tobago (8 visitors), Puerto Rico (6 visitors) or Curaçao (2 visitors), the choice is certainly difficult. Adventurers might prefer the Pitcairn Islands (2 visitors), isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between Australia and Chile, or Wallis and Futuna (2 visitors), close to the Fiji archipelago. Memorable moments at the seaside are almost guaranteed.

Option 2: Mountains and nature

A holiday in the mountains is the ideal way to experience nature in its most pristine form and recharge your batteries. Hike through picturesque landscapes and discover hidden treasures and breathtaking views. Iceland (98 visitors), the Faroe Islands (4 visitors) and Greenland (1 visitor) promise spectacular geysers and wintry landscapes even in summertime. You can head even higher in Nepal (3 visitors) and Tajikistan (2 visitors) where incomparable panoramas await after the conquest of challenging summits. In Mongolia (2 trade visitors), the majestic backdrop of the mountains merges into the endless expanse of the prairies. A sublime panorama that invites you to pause and marvel at the beauty of nature.

Brunei (12 visitors), a small state on the island of Borneo, also has beautiful sandy beaches to offer – but even more impressive is the rainforest that stretches inland to mountain peaks almost 2,000 metres high and is home to thousands of species. The mountainous landscape of the Andes, as can be admired in Argentina (74 visitors), Bolivia (6 visitors) and Colombia (159 visitors), among others, also attracts travelers with an admiration for the combination of high altitude and incredible biodiversity.

Around the world and all the way back - the list of visitor countries at Interzoo 2024 is just one of many examples of the global significance of the world's leading trade fair for the pet industry. Until the next edition in 2026 (12-15 May 2026), the Interzoo team of Pet Industry Services (Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH) wishes you a relaxing and interesting holiday!
