PetQuip Awards 2024: Interzoo’s sponsorship dedicated to innovation
The world’s leading trade fair of the pet industry supports innovation and start-up encouragement with its sponsorship at the PetQuip Awards, held at the British PATS trade fair in Telford (29 October – 1 November 2024). By sponsoring the award for the most promising starter business, Interzoo acknowledges the importance of innovative concepts and outstanding ideas that drive the industry forward. The awards also focused on species-appropriate products and animal-friendly handling, as exemplified by the ‘international retailer of the year’, the German company Kölle Zoo.
At the PetQuip Award Dinner with 300 guests on 30 September in Telford, prizes were awarded in 15 categories to national and international companies in the pet industry. Among the new awards this year was the ‘Rising Star’ category. Clara Hewson, founder of the brand The Muzzle Movement, not only became the proud recipient of this award, but also won the ‘most promising starter business’ category for outstanding achievements in the start-up sector, sponsored by the pet industry’s leading trade fair Interzoo.
Interzoo's sponsorship of the PetQuip Awards in the category of ‘most promising starter business’ not only reaffirms its commitment to innovation-driven approaches in the pet industry. As the global hub for the pet industry, Interzoo offers companies an ideal platform to present their innovative products and concepts to an international audience and to meet important incubators and industry decision-makers that help innovations gain market access.
“Innovation is in our company's DNA,” says Hewson. “Thus, we are thrilled to receive the award in a category that focuses on innovation and development.” The focus of the Muzzle Movement’s product design is directed towards dogs' well-being, says Hewson whose muzzles stand out from a lot of traditional product approaches. “Our product gives dogs enough room around the muzzle to pant, which helps them regulate their body temperature. The specially designed treat hole allows dog owners to give their dogs a reward without having to interrupt training, even once the muzzle is on.” As part of her expansion strategy, the British founder is strongly considering a participation in Interzoo 2026: “We sell our muzzles internationally and have a large fan base of dog owners around the world who would like to visit us at Interzoo. We are ready for the biggest international platform of the industry!”
The International Retailer of the Year Award went to the German company Kölle Zoo Holding, which, in addition to an extensive online shop, operates 24 stores in Germany and Austria. According to the jury, the company was honoured for its focus on animal-friendly and welfare-oriented products and services, ensured by high standards and professional staff.
